For their 2019 Cape Fear Competition live stream, Red Bull sought to produce quality coverage of the event from the the dangerous conditions of Shipstern Bluff, Tasmania. Capture of real-time surfer data in the intense conditions needed to be displayed on live graphics that would be remotely operated by their team of live operators located in Red Bull's Santa Monica Studio, nearly 8,000 miles away.
Singular's overlays were integrated with on-site data provider CompuSurf to use interfaced, real-time stats for the competition's heat leaderboards, overall leaderboards, and surfer scores. Using an Amazon Web Service data interface built by Reality Check Solutions, Red Bull was able to feed live data sent from CompuSurf in Tasmania through the cloud and into its overlays being operated in California.
Despite the event taking place in Tasmania, Red Bull Media House ran its production remotely from its Santa Monica, Calif. studio almost 8,000 miles away. The event demonstrated the power of Singular's web-native workflow which is ideal for remove events. Watch a replay of the stream here.
